The school was started by Kimana primary head master with the help of the community in the year 2013. It started with eight students and four teachers. The school ceased from being a community school in March 2014 when it was registered as a public secondary school by the ministry of education. In January 2015, Mr. Julius Kindi was posted to the school as the principal. Currently, the school has over 200 students with ten teachers, both TSC and Board teachers.
