Focus on Africa: Different Business Models for Africa

Just as some countries ‘leapfrogged’ over wired telephone networks to wireless and digital economies, the rapidly growing economies of Africa have the opportunity to go beyond ‘tried-and-true’ business models to new mechanisms more suited to ever-changing local, regional, and international markets. Individuals who have created unique business models that respond to the challenges of operating in Africa with ingenuity to serve their customers profitably are some of the exhibitors in the Global Summit.

The 6th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2015 will be held in Kenya between 24-26th July. This will be a chance to show case Kenyan entrepreneurial ideas and innovations to the world. The Panel in the GES remains to be a unique platform for academicians, new-age entrepreneurs, eminent business personalities, and venture capitalists to gather and share their entrepreneurial ideas and experiences. Panel discussions will be held and experts will be brought on board on. Roadmaps for Funding, Social Entrepreneurship, and Mobile Technologies are some of the subjects to be discussed.

The CEO-Africaqua Limited, Mr. David Kuria is one of the panel members and due to his vast experience as a social entrepreneur and the African Social Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009; he will bring along his wealth of knowledge on the same. He will want to highlight the issues on entrepreneur ecosystems in Kenya and Sub-Sahara Africa, which if not addressed will always provide strong barriers to grassroots innovations and growth of small emerging businesses.
